What To Include on Your Wedding Website

We live in a digital world and just about everything we do can be accomplished with the click of a few buttons. Planning a wedding is no different. If you've decided to share details with guests via a website (superb idea), here's what to include on your wedding website.
The Essential Information
Here's where you put on your journalist hat and make sure you share the absolutely essential news. It's like you're writing the first paragraph of a press release where you give the who, what, when, where, and why. You and your honey are the "who". "What" and "why" are the fact that you're getting married. "When" is a no-brainer -- it's the date and time of the wedding. "Where" (another no-brainer) is, of course, the location of the ceremony and reception. If you'll share the tone, theme or dress code, that can serve as the "how".
The front page of your wedding website can mimic your wedding invitation and give all of the basic information that guests will need about your Big Day.
Getting More Detailed
When sending wedding invitations, couples often opt to provide more details by including the following enclosure cards: response cards, accommodation cards, and map/direction cards. On your wedding website, similar to the information you'd include on accommodation cards, you can give the names of hotels in the area. Or, if you've booked a block of rooms for hotel guests, you can share the hotel's contact information and the name under which the rooms are reserved. Also let guests know what information they'll need to provide to the hotel when making their reservations. This is very important if the block of rooms is booked with the intent of getting discounted room rates. If your nuptials will take place in a locale that has interesting sites in the area, include this information as well.
If you've created a gift registry, add that information and make it even more convenient for guests by sharing direct links to your online registry.
Going Even Further
Feel free to have fun with your wedding website by adding a page for photos (baby pics of the couple, engagement photos, etc.) Share your love story with guests by letting them know how you met and the timeline from your first date to the wedding date.
Give your bridal party a shout-out by listing the names of maid of honor, bridesmaids, best man, groomsmen, flower girl, ring bearer, ushers, etc. Add a little personality to the listing by noting each bridal party member's relationship to you and, if appropriate, how you met.
