Snowflake Wedding Invitation : Mirrored Keepsake Favor Box

There's something to be said for the traditional wedding season (May - August), with flowers in bloom and mild to warm temperatures. I, however, prefer the cool crisp air surrounding a fall wedding or the picturesque view of snow falling outside of a winter wedding's venue.

I especially find winter weddings to be romantic, cozy, and practically magical. The twinkle of snowflakes and sparkle of icicles naturally inspire accessories, wedding decor and favors with plenty of glitz and glam.  The non-traditional wedding dress below is absolutely stunning and begs for cooler temperatures.  (Our wedding magazine editor had to feature it on the cover).  You couldn't comfortably wear this dress at a spring or summer wedding.

As for the winter wedding reception venue's ambiance, candlelight is essential and a fireplace is a definite plus. The menu should take winter's chill into account and include offerings that are warm, satisfying as well as elegant.  Here's a delectable menu that fits the bill:

WINTER MENU

fried marcona almonds
radicchio and persimmon salad with brown butter vinaigrette
truffled cream of cauliflower soup

wine braised short ribs | grilled porcini
soft polenta with mascarpone
roasted brussel sprouts

chocolate pots de crème
buckwheat butter cookies
vanilla bean ice cream
